Client contact is central to our work, and we employ a strength-based approach that focuses on the individual's resources.
As a social worker, you will exercise authority and make decisions based on applicable legislation and guidelines. You will be responsible for investigating, assessing, and deciding on financial assistance in a legally secure and professional manner. You will collaborate with colleagues within the unit and with other actors to find sustainable solutions that meet the client's needs.
Your main responsibilities include:
- investigating the right to economic assistance and making decisions according to the Social Services Act
- maintaining regular contact with clients and supporting them on their path to self-sufficiency
- collaborating with other units within social services and external actors such as the Employment Agency, the Social Insurance Agency, healthcare, and other authorities to create comprehensive solutions
- documenting and following up on cases in accordance with applicable procedures.
With us, you will be part of an engaged workgroup where we support each other and develop our working methods together. We work closely with our partners and focus on creating long-term results for our citizens.
We Offer You
With us, you will be part of a workplace with 50 dedicated colleagues spread across three units. We work closely together and support each other in our daily tasks. The team includes senior social workers, social workers, and social assistants. We collaborate both within the unit and with other services to provide the best possible support to our clients. Our work environment has been recognized with the award for Administration's Workplace 2025, reflecting our commitment to community and development. We offer flexible work arrangements and apply annual working hours to facilitate the balance between work and private life. You will work in an organization that invests in digital solutions to simplify administration and free up more time for client meetings. We prioritize professional development and offer ongoing training and supervision.
You Who Are Applying to Us
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and previous experience in authority exercise within social services, including case management and assessments according to the Social Services Act (SoL).
Other requirements for the position:
- Experience in applying and working according to current legislation, such as the Social Services Act (SoL), in case management and decision-making.
- Experience in work that involves documentation and administration in case management as well as personal meetings with clients or other target groups.
We consider it an advantage:
- Experience working in the case management system Lifecare (formerly Procapita) for case management and documentation.
- Experience in economic assistance, work, and support, including case management and client contact.
- Experience applying the social insurance system in a professional role.
As a social worker in economic assistance, you need to be collaborative and work closely with both internal and external actors, such as colleagues in the team, the employment agency, educational providers, and other partners. Together, you coordinate efforts that lead the client towards self-sufficiency. You are relationship-building in your meetings with clients and build trust by being respectful, professional, and accessible. This creates good conditions for investigating and assessing needs even in complex or emotionally charged situations.
You are structured and drive your cases forward by planning, prioritizing, and systematically following up on efforts. This ensures that decisions regarding financial assistance are made legally secure and efficiently. Stability in your working method allows you to maintain focus even when the work demands high standards, enabling you to meet vulnerable clients with a low-arousal approach. By remaining committed to the task even when the situation is pressured, you create security and contribute to long-term solutions.
For positions in the Social Administration in Botkyrka Municipality, you as a prospective employee will undergo a background check.
